current research - URBAN RESIDENTIAL SETTINGS

The quality of the environment where people live has perhaps the greatest influence on well-being. It is where there is a complex relationship between what is perceived as private and what is public and where territorial impulses are likely to be heightened.

ELP analysis can be used to reveal the experiential anatomy of existing and proposed residential settings and this can help show how the spatial configuration might influence the development of inhabitants’ sense of neighbourhood and local identity.
